About Herb
I am a professional musician. I am 59 and still drive 50K miles per year to go play gigs with Larry Joe Taylor, Guitar Grady, Joe King Carrasco, Thomas Michael Riley, Dan West, Alvin Crow, the Lost Sounds, Ben Watson, Davin James, Weldon Henson and anyone else who calls with a need for a good drummer. I have been teaching drum lessons since 1988. At one point, I was up to 40 half hour lessons per week in Austin for 12 years. Today, I am accepting students who want to learn to play drum set in a Country, Blues, roots Rock, Folk, and R&B style of music. I am especially good with beginners, getting started, but also have coached many pro drummers. I was on the Texas Commission of the Arts - Artist in Residence program in the 90s, workshops for @40,000 students. Teaching is simply a part of the obligation to share knowledge. Music is all about Sharing. Drumming is a lifetime sport.
40 years of playing in bands. Teaching private drum lessons for 20 years. Lots of references and chances to actually see me play in person.

Phone conversation to set up an appointment. First lesson is a stand alone one time lesson for determining if the student likes the teacher and assessing the students capabilities. If the answer is Yes, we schedule a weekly lesson time, and payment for 4 weeks, collected at the beginning of each month.
