I like to get the student talking about themself and find out what kind of music they like. Get them to open up and be a little more comfortable so they enjoy their time
I've worked with students from 7 years old to 25 years old. I've had a student with autism as well
Find a drum teacher that is going to teach you what you need and not what they are pushing to promote. Someone who truly cares about the dictation of a student and not how much money they can make in a day
I was in a lesson with a guy about 22 years old and we were going over different concepts and it came to a moment where it clicked for him. He got so excited and couldn't stop smiling and told me my explanation is what made the difference in how he learned this new idea
