About Lauren
Students will be able to receive Humanities tutoring (ELA, Social Studies, English SAT, and Writing) from a licensed teacher who has nearly a decade of experience working with students from grades 6-12.
I enjoy watching students progress, as well as the sense of accomplishment they feel when they realize they are starting to master new skills. It's also extremely engaging and fun to help students think through writing. You get to see the minds and ideas of young people at work. Helping a child learn to self advocate and express himself or herself through writing is a skill I know will help them for the rest of their lives, so it feels meaningful to take assist in that.

Depending on the age of the student, I may ask them to bring writing samples or some recent work in order to gauge where the student is with their skills. I'd also ask the student what their goals are for tutoring. I think working with a student who understand their own goals will help keep them aware of their own progress.
