About Asi

English, reading, and writing have always been a passion of mine. I greatly enjoy creative writing and spent my elementary and high school years advancing those skills whether it be submitting essays to contests or writing plays. Another passion of mine is working with kids and teens to help them achieve their goals. I have found through my many years of schooling that it has always been beneficial to learn from my peers and tutors, because it is unfortunately not always possible for teachers to take the time to break down something for all students to understand. My goal is to work with a student in a way that works best for them at their pace, and work together to achieve a mutual understanding of the material.

I am a recent graduate with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Neuroscience and Developmental Psychology, and minor in Communications and Media Studies. Despite my interest in the sciences, my favorite subjects have always been English and writing classes. In high school I was an AP Literature student, and through college have had immense practice and education on writing and reading from Global Literature and Film to Journalism to Grant Writing.

Although I have not tutored professionally before, I have always utilized my skills in both a work and educatuonal setting. I often proofread papers for peers, and my job in customer service gives me plenty of exprience in writing and proofreading documents as well. I really enjoy helping others! It's a really rewarding feeling to see a sense of understanding click in a student, and I am happy to be able to help them achieve that. In my particular area of interest, I also really enjoy reading the work of various students. For me writing was a creative outlet and a way to express myslef. Whether an assignment is free writing or structured, I really like that I get to see the uniqueness in each indivdual through their writing. Having a passion for reading, I am happy to be able to help someone have a better understanding of any story!
