About Aryana

As a college student, I want to help other students with school! I will help with essays, classes that I have been in, and how to study effectively. I will also help students with how to make their own useful study guides based on class notes, which would be useful for any class.

I tutor other people at my college and have been tutoring since high school. There is a website I am on where people from my college can look people up to see what classes they tutor in, what they got in that class, and how we tutor. I also was a tutor for first years at my college, which was more about helping them have structure when it comes to school and how to study effectively.

I know there were certain classes in high school that I would not have been able to get through without my tutor, which is why I want to help other students! I know that tutors can help re-center students with everything going on in class and can go over things from class again when they may not have gotten it in class.

I like to tutor people at Starbucks (I'm limited to Ubers and being in college).

I am in my third year at college majoring in Political Science and Women and Gender Studies. A lot of how I do in my classes comes from essays and studying effectively for tests. I have also been tutoring people since high school and tutor other people at my college. I went to the Writing Center once to get help for my essay, to see if it was where I wanted it to be, and they told me I should be a tutor there.

About the lesson

I would like to know what class(es) they need tutoring in and then what year they are in school. I would also like to know what their teacher looks for, which would help give me direction to more effectively help the student. I would also want to know where they think they need help, and go from there!

I have mostly tutored high schoolers and people in college.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
When taking class notes, if it is on a Google Doc, write your comments/questions with the comments and bring them to your teacher.

You could bring them an outline for an essay and see if they will give you more direction based on that.

You could ask them whether there is anything they think you should be studying more than others (homework, class notes, etc.).

Most teachers would want you to bring these things to them rather than just hoping they will help you.
