About Sam
Hi! My name is Sam and I'm a rising Sophomore at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, a Top 10 US University. I was the Student Body President at Hopkins School in New Haven and tutored elementary school students once a week graduating in the top 10% of my class. I also have experience tutoring my 11 year old sister and absolutely love seeing students understand new and challenging work. I've recieved awards in high school for Leadership and Dedication to the School and finished my freshman year in college on the Dean's List every quarter with a 4.0 GPA, earning the award for highest acheiving student in my course of study. I'm currently triple majoring in Political Science, Economics, and Communication and am comfortable tutoring all ages in Math (Up through Statistics, Calculus, and Multiple Regression), English (composition, comprehension, and grammar), History, Latin, French, and Economics. I'd also love to help students prepare for the SAT or AP Tests, having received a 1530/1600 and a 5/5 in AP Stat, AP English Lang, AP Calculus BC, AP US History, and AP Latin. Some of my favorite hobbies are singing, playing the piano and flute, traveling, and doing theatre.
I really love the moment when you see a student light up because they understand something. Having faced some struggles in classes myself, I know how satisfying it is as a student to experience that lightbulb moment and I enjoy helping others feel that feeling as well. I pride myself on being super friendly and gentle and will always be on your side doing whatever we can to help make whatever material we're working on make sense.
