About Sneha

Phi Beta Kappa member and 3.7 GPA English graduate, with an excellent academic background gives services for English tutoring and college essay editing. I have more than one year experience in assisting college students with their essays. I help them with improving the overall structure of their writing piece, grammar, sentence structure, MLA/APA formatting, etc.

I enjoy enriching the lives of students by helping them and working with them to improve their English. Especially, I understand the struggle of immigrants who want to improve their English as I am an immigrant myself. English literature, especially reading books and writing is one of my passions in life and that's what I enjoy doing.

I first started teaching two young children who were of 3rd and 4th grade when I was in high school. I really enjoyed teaching them and helping them. They were of a low-income background in India, hence, they were not as privileged as me. However, they were very intelligent and despite not being in a top school, they still had a lot of potential to be their best. Looking at that, it really motivated me to become a tutor because I really think I can actually be an inspiration and a guide for people who have a lot of potential but are unable to have circumstances in their favor.

I was a college essay tutor for a freshman student who had minor celebral palsy. I helped her with her essays in English, sociology, psychology, etc. I helped with the overall flair of her essays, improve sentence structure, having a good thesis statement, etc.

I also assisted a middle school student with preparation for SHSAT (for English Language section only)

I used to assist other college students with editing and proof reading their essays especially with grammar, sentence structure, etc.

I also tutored children in India who were in 3rd and 4th grade with all their subjects but I specifically helped them with their English reading and writing skills.

About the lesson

I listen to the needs of my students and what is the assignment or specific skill they need help in. I look at their work and see their writing style, and cross check with what the school/instructor asks them to improve on. And I give tips on how to build on specific skills. For example, tenses, spelling errors, etc. So I like to work on areas that the student needs work on.

I mostly worked with high school and college students.
