About Jessica
I am a current graduate student studying Speech and Language Pathology. I currently work with a number of children and adults on various aspects of language, speech, and literacy.
I have previously worked as a tutor during my undergraduate studies focusing on reading and writing skills for college students.
I have also worked as a teaching assistant for Phonetics and Anatomy for Communication Sciences and Disorders.
During my undergraduate studies, I majored in Communication Sciences and Disorders. I minored in English and Psychology.
I love connecting with individuals and helping them achieve their goals. While tutoring, I am not only supporting individuals in the learning process, but I am learning from my tutees!
I have a B.A in Communication Sciences and Disorders with minors in English and Psychology.
During my undergraduate career, I worked at Augustana College's Reading/Writing Center. I enrolled in two training courses and served as a peer tutor for three academic years.
I am currently studying to acquire my M.S in Speech and Language Pathology.
I have worked with children and adults in the following areas: language, speech, and literacy.

I like to spend a little time at the beginning of each session getting to know the person I am working with and/or their caregivers. Building rapport is an essential part of the process. I ask about primary concerns. I also ask about interests and strengths. After gaining initial information, I can work with the student in order to determine the focus (i.e., content) and structure of the session(s).
