About Jaelyn
I love helping others learn, but thats not the only reason I tutor. I am currently studying to become an Elementary Schoot teacher (ages 7-11 usually). This means that not only do I simply like helping, but I gain experience when I tutor others.
I have wanted to be a teacher since I was around eleven, and ever since I started tutoring and learning how to be a good teacher I love it even more!
I am currently in school to become an elementary teacher, but I tutor people of all ages, and I have experience tutoring people from ages 8 to 17.

I like to understand how a student works before trying to actually teach them anything. If I try to shove visual learning into thier curriculum it's useless if they're an auditory learner. The student actually making progress and learning is the #1 priority, not whether or not they can memorize the content.
I have worked with young students and high school students from many backgrounds. Some with less-than-perfect english, some that just do NOT understand WHAT a hypotenuse is. Any background you come from, or different abilities you come with, I am more than willing to accommodate you! As I've said elsewhere in my profile, working with people with different abilities and backgrounds actually helps me gain experience too!
I, admittedly, do not have much expertise, but there's only one way for me to get it! If you need a teacher who has been in the classroom, and that's what makes you comfortable that is completely understandable, but I am not the person for you in that case.
I currently tutor a 2nd grade girl, she is the sweetest thing, and sometimes she texts me from her mom's phone with animoji messages saying she "can't wait for math today!". Those moments and messages mean a lot to me.

Details
I generally do 12$ an hour, if it is high-school level curriculum I charge 15$ an hour. This pricing difference is because to tutor people in middle school and under I can use free online resources and websites to help them engage with the content; but with high-school work the content is often times not free, and I am more than willing to purchase options that would help you learn better, but it does cost more.
