About Olivia
I am a student at the University of Notre Dame majoring in English. I took AP Literature and AP Language. I am proficient in Spanish, having taken it for 5 years and having taken the AP exam.
I've tutored for a variety of students, from Tahi refugees to Hispanic immigrants to college and high school students who needed help focusing.
I am also very familiar with the ACT, SAT, and PSAT. In fact, I was a National Merit Finalist.
I know that I am called to be a teacher. There are so many wonderful things to know and explore, and I want to show these things to the world! I also just like talking about grammar because there is something beautiful about the systems we use in language to send almost secretive messages to readers.

It takes a few lessons to know what the students need. Some work better with humor, some with patience, and some with being directly told what to do. I use a lot of incentives with my students, like using treats or promising them a game if they work hard, but the most important part of the relationship is that we are buddies. I don't act like I know everything, because I don't, but I work through the problems with the student because I am always reviewing and learning new things, too.
