About Dean
I love to learn. I love to help others learn. Why? The more we know, the more fun life is. Our ability to communicate and share ideas creates more opportunity for growth; personally and academically.
Mostly, helping others realize "the value of an education" and bring relevance to their studies. I also find a lot of satisfaction seeing others succeed.
I have two Masters degrees. They are in counseling and management. My professional work career started in 1994. Prior to starting college, I served in the United States Army.

The first thing is to spend some time speaking with the student and learning about what their interests outside academics are and how the given subject matter may enhance their interests. If no connection can be made, then assist the student in seeing the subject's importance in their course of study; perhaps provide some real world perspective they can relate to.
