About Debora

Welcome to Debora Macy Tutoring Services!

Established as an educational service dedicated to providing high-quality tutoring services to students of all ages and backgrounds.

Debora is a highly qualified teacher and Orton Gillingham tutor for students who have dyslexia or students needing intervention because they struggle with reading and self esteem.

Debora encourages students within their own abilities, drawing upon their interests to connect, engage, and to help students achieve their academic goals; unlocking their full potential.

Debora has been teaching since 2008 and has a Master of Science and credentials in Elementary classroom education; Master of Arts and credentials in Special Education, and a secondary English Language arts credential for middle and high school.

Because of Debora's concern for students who struggle with reading, she has completed 30 hours of Orton Gillingham training through the Institute for Multi Sensory Education that is specialized for teaching students with dyslexia.

After completing a credential program I began teaching a kindergarten and first grade combo class. While teaching I was also earning a masters degree in education with a focus on reading. My thesis was a case study of a student with severe reading difficulties. Through this experience I was able to give this student the intervention instruction needed to build her reading skills successfully.
