About Deniz
My earliest memory of finding my passion in this was being in kindergarten and thinking to myself "this is what I want to be when I grow up", and it has never really changed since then. When I was in high school I started to take that more seriously, and my teachers noticed. I began to stay after classes to grade papers, write exam keys, and do various forms of peer review.
Once I started college I got my first job as an educator for a program called hope in Miami, where I worked for over a year teaching. I started to freelance as a tutor soon after and loved everything about it. My latest position in education has been at the Kennedy Space center teaching stem and space sciences.

Typically when working with a new student I like to take a bit of time to get to know them first. This lets me know where they're at, how to best communicate with them, etc. I also like to try different techniques with them and see what they respond best to. That way I can start catering the tutoring more to their needs.
I have found myself lucky enough to have worked with a variety of students. My most challenging group was when I worked with students who were from low income families living in high risk areas. They had many behavioral issues we had to sort through, but it proved to be one of the most rewarding experiences of my life when we found breakthrough and common ground together.
I have also worked with students who were from overseas, trying to learn English to better adapt in their new communities here in the states.

My standard pricing system starts at $45 an hour. I believe this is justified because we really get through a lot in those 60 minutes, and I'm fully engaged with whomever it is getting a lesson at that moment.
