About Jacob
I am open to discussing my lesson strategy by phone. With essay and English language tutoring, I find that a personalized approach is best since writing is a very personal endeavor. I like to tailor my teaching system to the unique needs of each student, whether they prefer editing essays by reading them out-loud together, or working line-by-line with a pen at hand to restructure a written piece. Before delving into any given lesson, I also like to ask students about their goals and aims for a particular assignment, and what they find particularly difficult
I love seeing a student understand a challenging idea, metaphor, or sentence with clarity. That magical moment of breakthrough is deeply rewarding.
