About Annabel
Hi :) My name is Annabel and I'm a 2019 graduate from Pine View School for the Intellectually Gifted in Osprey, FL as well as a 2023 graduate from Drake University with a B.S in Psychology and minor in Music. I've spent most of my life tutoring and helping in the classroom, from as young as 14 years old! I was a 5th grade Teacher's Assistant at Bay Haven School of Basics Plus (elementary) from 2014-2019 and was awarded Sarasota County's Youth Volunteer of the Year in 2018 for my work there. I was also a teacher's assistant at Pine View for 8th grade English, AP European History, and AP Psychology from 2015-2019. My mother is a teacher at Southeast High School in Manatee County, FL and I've been able to observe her teach, as well as help her students (9th-12th grade) in one-on-one tutoring settings for IB French (all levels), Music Theory (including AP), and Piano from 2014-2021. I began volunteer college counseling with students at South East High School in 2020 (ACT/SAT prep, essay/short answer editing, and support throughout the college admissions process) and have thoroughly enjoyed my time with that as well!
My true passion lies in helping others reach their full potential, and I am a firm believer in students being capable of whatever they choose to work hard at. There is no such thing as success without failure, and there is always hope for any student in any situation. I pride mysself on practicing unconditional positive regard with all students and parents.
