About Nicole
I have four years of Japanese and Chinese language tutoring experience and one and a half years of experience teaching English as a Foreign Language full-time through the Peace Corps in China. Learning a language is incredibly challenging because of the depth and breadth of knowledge required for even the most basic conversations. In my tutoring classes, students focus on establishing vocabulary and quickly encorporating it into practical conversations so that they can quickly utilize those new skills. We also work on tricks and tips to understand everything from pronunciation to grammar so that the student can quickly grasp complex topics. Last of all, learning a language should be enjoyable. In my classes, we aren't afraid to laugh at ourselves and use our mistakes to develop our language abilities.
I love the moment when a concept clicks for a student. There are few things as rewarding as watching a student proudly using a grammar pattern or vocabulary word that they had previously struggled with.
