About Kristen
I have a strong passion and excitement for our natural world. I believe that education is the first step in conservation!
I am currently persuing my BS in Environmental Education from Oregon State University. As well as expierence teaching in informal settings such as the Oregon Coast Aquarium and the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences.
While volunteering in the education department at the Oregon Coast Aquarium I developed a passion for teaching. It was here that I discovered that education was the first step in conservation. Shortly after I began pursuing my BS in environmental education. My first role as teacher came at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences where I taught students in outdoor informal educational settings.
I previously worked in informal educational settings with the Oregon Coast Aquarium and the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. While I was there I developed a love for teaching and decided to go back to school for my BS in Environmental Education. I am currently a sophmore with Oregon State Universities E-campus.

When I first sit down with a student I like to have a quick chat with them. First off, to get to know them and second to guage how much they know about the topic we are about to discuss. This way there is no unessary repeating and I am able to engage the student quicker.
I have worked with all ages, from preschoolers to adults. However, I specialize in working with students in early childhood.
