About Elsa
Spanish is my first language, the language I spoke in school, law school, and in all of my social activities while living in Colombia.
I am also passionate about the Colombian & Latin American culture, foods, landscapes, music, their arts and crafts.
As an attorney, I am also interested in their politics, economics. My masters in comparative law adds to my experience in that I can put legal and social conversations in the contexts of Latin American countries, to include Brazil, the Guayanas and other not necessarily countries / islands that speak Spanish per se.
i love to teach and share knowledge with others. My classes are fun, diverse, the include different methods; no two classes are the same. They are organized, goal setting, but we use real life and activities to learn.
I like it and my students learn with me.
I was a translator for 7 with the federal government in counterintelligence but have also taught and coached a variety of classes.
i have the Spanish club in my daughter's school for a year, have also taught English, cooking classes, jewelry making, coaches soccer. Many of my classes have been taught online, also via WhatsApp and many times I have had a combination of an in home class with students also online.

I like to get to meet them, I prefer video conference for that.
I ask questions in Spanish and English, and have a writing test in Spanish to see where the student is.
i make sure my new students know that we all are learning, so mistakes are ok.

I am not sure it is standard. My most recent fee has been $15 for a 40 minute lesson.y classes are followed by homework and projects for the students to do on their own.
