About Andrew
I am a college professor with nearly two decades of classroom experience teaching. I earned my PhD in Political Science from the University of Iowa and teach courses on government, public policy, research methods and statistics, and college writing.
I have a lifelong love of learning and helping others find their own passion to learn is truly rewarding.
I was a student teaching assistant in college. I thoroughly enjoyed the process of teaching and pursued it as a full-time career.
I have a Bachelors from Grinnell College, as well as a Masters and Ph.D. from the University of Iowa in Political Science. I have nearly two decades of small classroom experience.

We'll have an initial conversation to establish needs, goals, and current level in the subject. Then we will work to develop a plan to achieve those goals in a timely manner. If I do not believe I can help you achieve your goals in the time that we have, I will let you lnow up front what I think we can accomplish with the time until your goal/deadline.
Generally I work with college students or high-school students preparing for college. I am able to assist younger students as well.
Find someone who wants to know what you want out of the experience of learning. If they don't show interest in your goals, they won't help you get closer to them.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What do I want out of this class/project/subject?
What skills am I in need of developing/improving so that I can better do this on my own next time?
