About Ashley

Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Ashley, and I have been a flutist for 22 years. I focus my lessons on technique and theory. I attended Pikes Peak Community College and took Music Appreciatiion. Music should be an enjoyment, and I work very hard to make sure that goal is accomplished. I work with beginners and intermediate students only.

I have always had a passion for playing my flute, and I wanted to be able to share that talent with other students.

I became disabled in 2011 and realized that this was my opportunity to do what I love doing and share that with others.

I attended Pikes Peak Community College where I took Music Appreciation. I also took a teaching course and Psychology.

Every student learns slightly differently, so with the knowledge of these courses combined, it allows me to get a feel for how I can work with each individual student.

About the lesson

I like to take the first lesson to sit down and determine what level of knowledge the studnet has. From there, I can take notes on what needs to be taught and what needs improvement. The first lesson is very laid back so I can get to know my student and my student has the opportunity to get to know me and how I will be teaching.

I work with beginners and intermediate students only.

Students that can't even make a sound on the instrument to students who have some understanding of music and want to improve.

Music should be enjoyable, and it is so rewarding. In order to be a great musician you need to know the basics. Having a solid understanding of technique and theory will significantly advance you as a future musician.
