About Heather
Hello! My name is Heather. I earned my Masters from the University of Akron in Music Performance, specializing in flute. I completed my undergraduate degrees in Music Education and Performance at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
I have taught flute lessons on and off for 20 years, and spent 2 years teaching music in the public school system. I then decided to stay home with my own children. I am currently a homeschool mom of three.
While I used to love performing, and did so quite a bit through various ensembles, I now also love teaching others to play the flute and/or piccolo. I believe a musical education creates well rounded, responsible individuals, and I think it is such a valuable skill to have. I love to help students find excitement and joy in learning to play their instrument to the best of their ability!
