About Mark

In learning golf, simplicity and clear communication is the key. Your instructor's clarity in conveying thoughts and swing concepts are crucial to your improvement. Patience on your part and your instructor's part are also vital to your success. I am a firm believer in a simplified system set up for a student to give themself a "check-up" to help diagnose a problem, and strive to explain the cause and effect of why a golf ball does what it does. Learning golf should not be overcomplicated... Give me a call, and let's have a chat. See if the shoe fits. My relaxed attitude and your willingness to learn will be a great combination to OUR success. Young or old, new to the game or hunting down a flaw in your swing, I look forward to helping you to succeed. I've been helping golfers get better for over 40 years. Lessons available in northwest Houston area near Cypress Texas. Offering single lessons, series of 3, or a series of 5.

Seeing the relief and or the smile on a student's face when they finally "get" it. Seeing the confidence they have when they are taught to be their own "doctor" and how to fix their problem.

Even at a young age I found it easy to relate to people. Because of my success as a high school competitive golfer, I was asked for help by other golfers and since we experienced great results, it snowballed from there by numerous referrals from students I'd helped.

Over a 40 year period, I've learned to simplify the learning process. Keeping it simple is incredibly effective.

About the lesson

Getting to know their thought process through asking and answering questions. Finding a commonality to strengthen our rapport. Treating them the way I would like to be treated. Learning their goals.

All ages. I actually taught an elderly Nun how to golf! She had a physical impairment that required me to "walk a mile in her shoes" by "mimicking" her physical situation to feel how I could help her by making adjustments in her stance to provide stability while widening her swing arc for more distance. Her sister became a student as well.

Take time to get to know the instructor and ask a lot of questions. Can I relate to this teacher? Are they a clear communicator? Are they patient? Are they respectful? Do they make it fun?

Learning a new method of golf for myself due to back injuries. It's an ongoing process, and it is reminding me of what it is like to be a student again.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I just precluded this without realizing it: see above.
