About Peter

I am the head Golf Coach at Bryan College

I am not just a coach but I am also a mentor. I work with my players on all different levels to help make them better in every way. There are a lot of good golfers in the world but not many great men and women in terms of character.

I worked overseas for 25 years after college. I worked teaching and coaching. I played and practiced with a lot of the pros in the Philippines and learned from them. I also worked with a lot of Koreans coming over to the Philippines to prepare them for college and the tour.

I have been the Head Golf Coach at Bryan College for 7 years. I also have degrees in education, theology, social research. I have a good eye for what works in life.

I like to meet with the student and get a feel for what level he/she is on and see them hit on the range or play a round of golf. Then I like to talk to him/her and find out how serious they are about improving and how much time they have to work on their game. For me a big part of it is what kind of person he/she is. Are they serious about all areas of their life? I am looking for students who not only want to be better players but better people as well. Deep down inside I am looking for studetns who want to make a difference in life.

I have worked with all kinds of students from beginners to college level. I have a lot of patience  because I want students to  become better people as well.

I would look at the kind of character the teacher has. A lot of teachers try all kinds of techniques but the bottom line is effectiveness. I have had players who had the same swing coach for years and still had the same swing problems. I would look for teachers who care about their students. I would also look for humility. If the teacher lacks humility and tends to build himself up, then look for another teacher

One my girls on our college team made a hole in one at our National Qualifier at Callaway Gardens. I had the priviledge to be standing next to the green. This girl had improved over 30 strokes from when she came her a little over two years ago.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
1) What level player am I (be honest)

2) How serious am I about improving

3) Am I looking for a quick fix (that seldom work long term) or am I humble enough to stick with it long term?

4) Do I have the discipline to work at drills long term. Most of the Korean players I have worked with are effective because they out work kids in the USA. Too many kids here are looking for easy answers and quick fixes.

My price range varies a lot depending on what type of lessons the student wants. I am looking for students who are serious about  their game but more importantly serious about life.
