About Anthony

Tony's first career was in the Armed Services where he entered as a Private in 1982 and eventually retired as a Colonel in 2010. His 28 year career included multiple leadership positions (as an enlisted soldier and as an officer) culminating with a Brigade level command. His 28 year career as an Army Aviator enabled him to travel and meet thousands of great Americans serving our country.

Although the Army was his first love, his passion for golf quickly grew when he began working with Carolina Section and Lifetime PGA Member Jimmy Koosa in 1997. The two became close friends and Mr. Koosa began mentoring Tony on how to teach and play the game. Tony’s amateur success on the club championship and member-guest circuit sparked him to pursue his new passion as an instructor/coach/mentor. After his retirement, he enrolled at Keiser University’s College of Golf where he graduated with Honors and earned his degree in Golf Management. While at Keiser University, he studied under Golf Magazine Top 100 Teacher T.J. Tomasi and Golf Digest Top 50 Women Teacher and LPGA Hall of Fame Instructor Donna White.

Tony also studied motor movements and golf sequencing under the PGA’s Director of Fitness, David Donatucci. This led to Tony’s certification as a Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Instructor. He is also an Impact Zone Certified Player.

Tony has been married to his lovely wife for 25 years and they have two children.

About the lesson

I believe in a student-based method of instruction. We all have certain attributes and skills that make us unique. I want to use the things that YOU can do well and build your golf game and golf swing around those skills.

My students range from 4 to 94. That's why I like working at Okeeheelee GC. It allows me to work with the widest variety of players in both skill and age.

Coached the Oxbridge Academy Girls Golf team to the State finals in 2016.
