About Rachel

I am a vibrant young individual who holds a passion for teaching. After just one year of experience I have seen so many of my students succeed and now have academic confidence. I am a proud teacher and love what I do.

What I love most about teaching is the conncection you build with the young kids. You get to see their personalitites come to life and give them the confidence that is hard to find in a classroom of 30 kids.

My mother has been in education for over 15 years and I respect the positive impact she has had on their lives, which made me want to make a difference any way that I can. Kids are our future, lets educate them!

I have been a tutor for Sylvan Learning Center for a year which is all in person.

About the lesson

What are you currently working on/struggling with in school?

What educational goals do you have set for yourself? If none, lets set some together!

I have worked with student ages 5-17. All my tutoring experience has been in person.

I would tell the student to look for passion in a teacher. Anyone can teach, but not everyone can engage.

One of my fifth grade students had been struggling in Math with a C, and after a month of tutoring she now confidently holds an A. My boss received excellent feedback from the students mother. These stories keep me motivated and excited to teach!

Rachel is extremely kind and has a great energy about her. I notice the kids that she works with always seem to feed off that positive and upbeat energy and remain engaged because of it. I see that is one of her top strengths and am sure that can translate to online tutoring as well.

As far as working with her at the tutoring center I also notice her patience with her students. Always taking the time to meet the students where they are at and allowing time for them to show a sign that they are ready to move on. That, to me, is another of her strengths, when it comes to working with others.
