About Ruth

I am a certified public school art teacher. I am an experienced graphic artist. I have illustrated a children's book. I teach art and graphic design in a public school. Previously I worked for Tracker Marine as a production graphic artist. Direct Resources International and Elite Promotions (Both are specialty advertising company) Here is my online portfilio...currently not complete yet but will give you an idea of my expertise. I love feeling creative. I have been teaching art in Public schools for the past two years. I do enjoy all elements of art but feel the most comfortable teaching Graphic arts as I have much more expertise that this area.

I also love to share my passion with others. I am a natural born encourager.

I was in between jobs as a graphic artist when I took some work as a substitute teacher. At that point I went back to school to get my degree in teaching and have been teaching ever since.

I have an associates degree in graphic design and printing technology a bachelor of science in writing in a master of arts in education and English. I've taught for ten years in public schools and I'm currently teaching art and Digital arts in a K-12 school. I have 12 years graphic design experience as a professional. I still teach privately online classes and also accept contract jobs to keep myself current with graphic design software.

About the lesson

I use zoom or Skype and have planned lessons that cover specific subjects. I provide supplemental materials and host my classes on google classroom depending on the subject matter. I use a combination of presentation and videos and give one on one feedback. I am a natural encourager.

I have worked with all ages from kindergarten to adults. I have taught some adult education classes at a junior college but I've currently I am working in a K-12 school working with all ages. I am also working on weekends and some evenings giving private lessons teaching adults and working with Outschool.com teaching graphic arts and some writing and art classes.

Be ready to participate. And don't be afraid to ask questions. I love to see the results of what people do in my classes. Recently I had a student on this website blow up one of his photoshop pieces of art and had it printed on a canvas to display in his house!

I recently have been teaching classes in graphic design centering in on Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrater, videography and beginning Animation. I really enjoyed working with students learning graphic arts. I also taught a class on drawing noses, eyes and portraits, which I also enjoyed. I love to share my passion with others.

Details

Currently I am charging $30 per session. If the class is multiple days then it would be $30 for each session per day. Some sessions last an hour, some a little more once in a while a little less.
