About Jack

By using my experience as a full time touring musician (guitar, bass, vocals), I can provide in-depth guitar lessons that focus not only on learning guitar technique, but learning how to interact with, and communicate in the language that is music. I can help decode all of your favorite songs and styles, not only giving you the exact lessons you want, but giving you ideas to help make your style your own. My curriculum is tailored to your needs and will be created during a free consultation.

Touring only pays so many bills. Early in 2019 I started teaching locally in Tacoma Washington, traveling to people's homes, mostly through Facebook and Instagram as well as flyers in music stores.

About the lesson

meet and get a feel for where a student is in their progression, and figure out where they want to go with their playing. Have them play some and understand where their technique is, what styles they have, and question their basic music theory knowledge. I usually do this first meet up for free and make sure the student gets a custom tailored curriculum that will take them where they want to go, from the very first paid lesson, so we don't waste their time or money.

Rock, Blues, Jazz, Country, Acoustic Singer-Songwriter, Pop, R&B

Your teacher must get 2/3:

1- the music (you like and want to learn similar music that apply their sensations)

2- the price (nobody wants to pay an arm and a leg)

3- the friend/mentorship (you want someone who is easy to hangout and work with, and provides wisdom and ideas that keep guitar fresh and fun)

I was in Portland working with Roadhouse Amps to build a custom hand wired amp over the weekend.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Ask for a music or gig related story, ask for pictures or proof of claims, ask why they teach (most of the good ones will say teaching makes them a better player). Stuff like that.
