About Mitchell

Hello! I'm so excited that you're here and interested in taking your guitar playing to the next level! I've been playing guitar for the past 19 years, and I've been a professional musician for the last 7 years. I've been fortunate enough to tour all of North America, play on radio, TV, and in some amazing recording studios. I'm also currently finishing my music degree with Berklee College of Music. All this to say, that I'm here to help with both the theory and the actual mechanics of playing. Whether your goal is to learn your first song, prepare for an audition, improve reading, or simply find out where to go next in your journey; I'm here and ready to help!

I'm comfortable in a variety of styles. I'm also an electric bass player as well as a slide guitarist, so let me know your goals and we'll accomplish them together!

The best part about working with students is seeing their growth and excitement. I've put a lot of time into my instrument, and I know just how frustrating it can be to improve. Sometimes you simply aren't sure where to go next, or you get caught up on one small thing that you just can't quite get. In my experience, having a more experienced player guide you through learning something can make it so much more fun, easy, and quick. So for me, the ultimate reward is helping a student accomplish their goals. There's many ways to approach playing guitar. My promise is to listen to my student's needs and help them develop the right plan for them.

I'm currently an upper level student with Berklee College of Music. I also have seven years of professional experience including performing for sessions, tours, tv, and radio.

About the lesson

First and foremost, I figure out the students goals and experience level. From there I'll work with them to see exactly what they're hoping to get out of lessons and move in that direction. I don't have a specific one size fits all lesson plan. To me it's all about making learning fun and keeping the student engaged.
