About Doug

I teach multiple instruments and have several famous students. I was a music major at Cal State Hayward. I am a published songwriter and have performed with many famous bands. Check me (Doug Freedman musician)out on Facebook. Some of my well known students are T.V. and off Broadway (School of Rock) star Mystic Inscho, and Paul Bostaph, drummer for Slayer. I have been a member of Iron Butterfly, Quicksilver Messenger Service, and Vital Signs( Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure) In the blues world, I have played with Jimmy Mccracklin, Bobby Webb, Amy Lou a d the Wild Ones, and many others. You can find hundreds of my videos on you tube.

I love seeing my students progress and have been teaching for over 40 years. I am very good with special needs kids. I am able to do things like play bass for my drum students so they can work as a rhythm section. I get a proud feeling when my students achieve their goals.

I was requested by my teacher to teach scholarship winners when I was a youngster. I have never stopped 😎

About the lesson

First I evaluate their needs and wants, and I give them a brief description of how I work to achieve the goals we establish together. We find the strengths and weaknesses and proceed accordingly.
