About Joshua
As an intermediate guitarist with 3 years of experience I can provide fun, casual, and easy to learn lessons for beginning guitarists at low rates.
I love guitar and music. I've been a musician for over 15 years, and started guitar as a new instrument in 2017, and I don't know why I didn't learn it sooner. I'm always learning new things, and teaching guitar is a way for me to share my love of music and to keep learning new skills myself!
As an intermediate level guitarist, I realised that teaching beginner level guitar is a fun, proactive and amazing way to hone in my own skills, and share the gift of music to other kids!
I currently have a high school diploma, but the relevant experience comes from over 15 years of musical experience and study.

When a new student arrives I give them my guitar and ask them to show me what they know. It's always helpful to start from where a student knows, rather than starting from scratch. If a new student hasn't played guitar at all, I will start with the simple CAGED chord system, and the names of strings in standard tuning. From here on out we can progress to chord progressions, picking, and strumming.
I am a new teacher! I have taught friends before for free, but I am just starting! I am so excited to start this new journey with my guitar, and can't wait to see you!
Look for someone who is relaxed and casual. Learning should be fun!
