About Michael

I travel to you, but I am also offering online lessons! I am classically trained in piano and violin, also trained in guitar, have a Bachelor of Music degree (University of Calgary, Canada) and a Masters of Divinity degree. I have been teaching beginner and intermediate lessons for 20+ years, and I take a wholistic approach to my lessons: skills (instrument), systems (theory) and sponaneity (improvisation). I have just added a new teacher who specializes in electric guitar, bass, piano and music recording technique. He's an awesome guy and great teacher!

I began teaching during my university studies, teaching piano and other band instruments.

About the lesson

My first lesson is always FREE. This gives the student/parent an opportunity to meet me, and for me to give an evaluation. I mix up my lessons so that it is a combination of theory, skills and improvisation (depending on level of skill). So no lesson is exactly the same!

I have worked with all ages, beginner and intermediate levels.

I suggest looking for a teacher who is not only great at their instrument but who will also inspire you to want to get better and better!
