About Skyler

There is nothing in this word that I love to do more then help my students actively learn their instruments in a timely manor. Mastering your instrument can be a lifetime goal, however studying with me can speed up the process or break you out of a rut. I am a sophomore Jazz Study's major studying at Rowan University and have been studying music with some of the best instructors in south Jersey for the better part of the last decade. I was apart of the music program in the Salem County's vocational technical school in highschool. I have experience in large and small jazz ensembles, blues groups, rock groups, pop and party music, marching band, concert band, and various select small ensembles. I won numerous awards for performances with those ensembles. I have been teaching privately to students aged 7 to 65 for the past two to three years and would like you to be my next student.

One of the teachers in my school district at Pennsville NJ had a 7 year old son who saw the Disney film CoCo and wanted to play guitar. Fortunately she saw me perform at one of the high schools concerts and knew my mother. She quickly contacted my mother and then myself regarding her son studying with me. So I jumped at the chance as I was eager to share my love and knowledge of my instrument.

I was in a music achedemy through a vocational technical school for my four years of highschool graduating with amble experience in performance, theory, and composition. I am currently about to start my sophomore year at Rowan University studying Jazz guitar. I have privately studied jazz guitar under three different professionals in their field. Lastly, I have been instructor for several years now with experience as an aid in a class that thought a full room of begin students the fudementals of guitar.

About the lesson

I start by discussing students interests with music, their existing experience with their instrument, and their reason they are looking to take lessons. Then I like to have a mock lesson to see if the student feels as though I am the right instructor for them.

Students aged 7-65. Complete beginners to advanced guitar players looking to better understand theory.

Make sure your instructor is capable of explaining things in a way that make sense to you and understand that you only get as much out of lessons as you put into them day in and day out.

Recently one of my instructors at Rowan started doing regular video concerts to help people relax in the current difficult times we as a society are facing.

Details

The first lesson I do with a new student will be a $20 half hour lesson. This is to ensure the student that I am the right instructor for them. If they decide to continue lessons with me they have the option of $40 half hour lessons once a week or $65 full hour lessons once a week. Many instructors cost upwards of $80-$120 plus for one hour lessons and only have the availability for one lesson a month but neglect crucial building blocks to becoming a great and knowledgeable guitar player. I want to give that to you for a fair price.
