About James

**Fully Vaccinated **

I've been playing guitar for over 10 years, honing my skills in hopes of passing on the same skill that has tremendously improved my life. What I bring to the lesson is my enthusiasm and passion for the instrument as well as a deep love and respect for the music writing process itself. I bring that same enthusiasm to every single lesson I teach in hopes that it will encourage and inspire the student to acheive their own personal goals.

my favorite part of the job is watching a student who, used to not be able to play a single chard, start writing their own songs! the rate at which people begin to pick up the instrument is sometimes truly amazing.

one day my sister, who had watched me from the time i started playing until my first performance, asked if i could teach her a song or two. from there, she immediately started picking up songs on her own and learning things that took me a few years to grasp. it was an amazing process to be a part of. from there, i just kept putting myself out there so i could teach others how to play.

Ive taught my sister as well as quite a few of my friends how to play guitar just by teaching them some of their favorite songs. The one thing ive learned from my personal experience teaching guitar, as well as from my past teachers, is that the best musicians are born from their passion for the music that they play. I believe, that by using songs the student is already familiar and emotionally connected to, there is a better chance at that student's success in learning the instrument

About the lesson

I will usually start with a few basic chords that will eventually form a familiar song to the student. Once they have realized they already know how to play one of their favorite songs, I will then proceed to delve into the more technical aspects of the craft
