About Ali
Graduated from The Ohio State University with my master's in middle childhood education specializing in math & science in 2013. I taught math in junior high for a few years in inner city and suburban schools while also tutoring at Sylvan Learning Center where I helped students with Reading and Math.
In 2015, I moved to Japan where I taught ESL for 6 years in Gunma Prefecture. I taught English to Japanese students of all ages (6 to 60+).
I've always had a passion for teaching and learning, and there's nothing that beats the satisfaction of seeing a student grow and gain confidence in their abilities. As someone who has lived abroad and tried to learn a foreign language, I understand the difficulties and challenges people face; it takes a lot of perseverance, dedication, and courage to learn a new language, and I have all the respect in the world for those trying to learn. Having the experience living abroad in Japan, has given me a new sense of respect for culture differences and challenges foreigners face coming to America. I have more patience and empathy as well.
