About Nathan
Welcome to my profile, my name is Nathan and I have been tutoring/ teaching for over 10 years. I specialize in the humanities: English, reading comprehension and writing, alongside the social sciences, with an emphasis on learning disabilities. Growing up I struggled with paying attention in class, and later found out that I had a learning disability. While it was discouraging at first, I was determined to figure out ways that I could learn the material that everyone else so seamlessly absorbed. Through the help of mentors and my new unconventional approach to learning, I graduated with honors, and went to UC Berkeley where I earned a degree in English Literature. My teaching philosophy is highly individualistic. It is my job to discover your child’s strengths and weaknesses in order to implement healthy study tools, habits, and a genuine interest in learning.
