About Sophia k

Hi, all!

I am a UC Berkeley graduate, with a B.A. in both Comparative Literature and Public Health. I have been remotely tutoring since the pandemic started in 2019 and have taught students ranging in age from 12-18 years old and in a variety of subjects (including college admissions help). I am particularly experienced tutoring in English literature and in mathematics up to Algebra II and Trigonometry. Further, with a strong background in biology and chemistry from my pre-med classes in university, I can also tutor in these subjects.

As a young adult, I am up-to-date and informed regarding the technologies and tools students have at their disposal to assist them in their work; my goal as a tutor and mentor is to teach and challenge students to thoughtfully augment their work without crippling their own capabilities.

I love getting to know my students and helping them improve according to their own learning preferences. My tutoring style is very flexible and attentive to each student's specific needs.

I am passionate about education and look forward to helping you reach your academic goals!

Deadly! Sophia is helping my daughter in Pre-Calculus . She is really easy to work with, after a few sessions my daughter was able to connect with her. Her way of reviewing and explaining content is very thorough and exceeds expectations of Pre-Calculus curriculum, so she ties in concepts with more advanced thinking and explains how the current concepts will later diffuse into more complex problems. Sophia is a meticulous tutor, who explains and goes over the material until my daughter is no longer confused. Communication with her is also very easy and flexible. I would highly recommend Sophia!!!
