About Yahya

Hi, I'm Yahya! I'm excited to share my educational background and tutoring experience with you. Currently, I am going into my senior year at Fairmont Preparatory Academy, where I have been pursuing a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum. Throughout my academic journey, I have developed a strong foundation in various subjects, enabling me to tutor in specific areas effectively.

I have excelled in several Advanced Placement (AP) courses, including AP US History, AP World History, AP Language and Composition, and AP Human Geography. These courses have allowed me to delve deep into the subject matter and develop a comprehensive understanding of the topics. To gauge my knowledge and readiness for the exams, I have taken mock exams for each course and achieved 4s on all of them, demonstrating my proficiency in these subjects.

At school, I have actively assisted my fellow students in courses like AP US History and AP World History. By offering my help, I have also earned community service hours, which highlight my commitment to supporting my peers' academic success. When helping my fellow students, I adopt an interactive approach. I begin by asking open-ended questions, aiming to stimulate critical thinking and engage them in meaningful discussions. This approach fosters a collaborative learning environment where students actively participate in their own learning process and feel encouraged to ask questions.

As I progress in my senior year, I am currently taking challenging courses, including AP Government, AP Economy, and AP Literature. This means that I am up to date with the latest requirements and expectations for these courses. Having just completed them, I have firsthand knowledge of how to approach studying and working on these subjects, which will benefit the students I tutor.

In summary, my educational background, strong performance in AP courses, and experience assisting fellow students in their studies make me well-equipped to tutor in specific areas such as AP US History, AP World History, and more. I am passionate about creating a supportive and engaging learning environment, tailoring my teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each student.
