About Rebecca

I scored a 176 on the LSAT, and I can help you do the same. I self-studied, so I had to figure out what works and what doesn't. I'm also a middle school teacher, so I'm used to explaining things many different ways. I love the LSAT and can show you how to treat it like I do: as a fun, learnable game you can totally crush.

I have taught middle school English for six years. I love explaining things in different ways until I can tell that everyone "gets it." I find that my understanding of English has been strengthened by learning how to explain it to every kid in my classes.

I have tutored students one-on-one many times throughout my career and even in college. I love working with people individually, because I can really help them with their unique needs rather than trying to consider thirty people at once.

About the lesson

First, I'd assess where you're starting out. If this is day one of LSAT prep, I can get you started strong by assessing your strengths and weaknesses with a practice test and developing a study plan. If you've been studying for awhile, I will look at some of your practice test scores and talk with you about what makes sense and what doesn't, and we can determine what will help you most. Every LSAT student is different, so we would work on your needs as an individual. There is no one-size-fits-all approach!

You need an LSAT tutor who cares about helping you understand the content of the test. There are no valuable tips and tricks that will get you to an elite score. Many people are trying to convince you to part with your money, and they'll tell you how they can help you increase your score by five points in a week with just one trick! Don't buy it. Find someone who wants to work with you as a person and who can actually explain the content to you in a way that makes sense. A good tutor will only promise you growth, not a specific timeline or score.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Be realistic about the amount of time you can and will devote to studying. If you are really only interested in spending an hour a week, I will drastically shift my plans for you (and, by the way, you should drastically shift your expectations of the amount of improvement you'll make). Ask your tutor what they want to do while you're tutoring and make sure that lines up with your schedule. For example, my tutoring students get homework assignments to do while they aren't paying me, and then they bring questions they have to me. That way, you only spend money on my help when you actually need it.

I charge $30/hour for one-on-one tutoring, and will travel short distances for free. If I need to travel farther than 15 miles, I will charge $.50/mile.
