Local lessons in Ableton / music production / mixing and mastering. I am recording a album for a year in the studio and have blocked out a portion of the week to take on students for a limited time.
Josiah is classically trained in piano performance, orchestration and composition. He studied piano at the conservatory level for 10 years, performing as a soloist in Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center at the age of 16. As a break from his 5-6 hour per day classical practice regimen he began recording concert piano covers of EDM tracks for his YouTube channel which generated millions of viewers. Just two months before his debut concert tour was to begin, he broke his finger in a biking accident and was forced to cancel all tour dates. Unable to play the piano during recovery, he devoted himself to learning Abelton which he had recently received as a Christmas present.
Through fluency in the digital audio workstation, sound synthesis, audio recording, and mixing / mastering a whole new world of music opened up to him. He became convinced that creating original music is a superior art form to simply performing the music of great composers. Today, Josiah is an active producer in the electronic music scene. He is in demand as a ghost producer and has worked with numerous well established artists. He is currently producing an EP for Emprise Records. He is making himself available for students of any age or level for a modest fee.
Josiah’s musical influences are many and varied, but include: Deadmau5, Nils Frahm, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Burial, Disasterpeace, Vangelis, and KOAN Sound.
