About Tommy
I've been playing drums for about 45-years and I've been recording many bands and solo artists for roughly 30-years. There's nothing more exciting and rewarding than seeing the lightbulb go on for people. I have a unique approach to drumming instruction. Taking the student where they want to go while teaching how best to get there using technique and natural movement and other creative methods. Looking forward to working together. I've studied drums privately with Staten Island, with Buddy Giovanazzo, and many teachers, at The Drummer's Collective. Michael Lauren, Pete Zeldman, Ricky Sabastian. I was also honored to have studied with the late legend Joe Morello, from Dave Brubeck. Joe is the drummer on the famous Take Five.

I had "on the job" training for Audio Engineering. I've not attended a school for this skill. I've worked in many of the top recording studios in Manhattan. Both, as a drummer and producer. I've worked privately with engineers to further my understanding of the recording sciences. I am currently studying, privately with Mark Anthony Rucci. Former Berklee College Of Music, instructor of Audio Recording Emgineerig. I've owned my own studio or recording gear, depending on location, and taught myself. My recent studies are for advanced levels to deepen my knowledge in the field, as the techniques, gear and focus has changed from the large beautiful, expensive studio, to the home (way more affordable) setup.

When working with new students, I listen to them play, watch how they use their hands, wrists, to determine how one plays and where next to go. I also ask questions about the students favorite music to play and then chart a course to get the student from where they are to where they want to be. I'm flexible and willing to work with many levels of drumming. While I'm a firm believer in proper technique providing the player with a lifetime of playing ability, without physics injury.
