About Madeline
I'm an experienced and qualified teacher, trained in both the United States and the UK. Over the past 12 years, I've taught English across a range of settings, including secondary school (ages 14–18), English language support at college level, and upper Key Stage 2 in primary schools. I’ve also worked internationally, supporting students from diverse backgrounds and abilities. My approach is adaptable, inclusive, and always focused on helping each learner achieve their full potential. Outside the classroom, I enjoy playing the piano, reading, and spending time outdoors.

My tutoring approach is centred around understanding each student’s unique strengths, needs, and goals. I tailor every lesson to support their individual progress, with a strong emphasis on developing a growth mindset and building lasting confidence in the subject. I believe that when students feel supported and encouraged, they’re far more likely to engage, take risks, and make real progress. Lessons are interactive, structured, and paced to suit the learner, with regular feedback to track growth. I offer face-to-face sessions, online lessons, or small group tuition, depending on what works best for the student and their family. For 11+ preparation, I use targeted resources designed specifically for the exam, and face-to-face attendance is required for practice test sessions to best simulate exam conditions and track readiness.
