About TAKIETHA
I love to learn! Learning helped to fuel my passion for teaching. Every new thing that I can teach any student could have the potential of affecting multitudes of individuals. The each one teach one perspective is one that I happily subscribe to. I also believe that it's important to learn a person's learning style in order to provide the best learning experience possible and in a way that is in line with one's thought pattern.
I really enjoy teaching others about African cultures and people, in an effort to break down many of the barriers that prevent us from progressing as a nation. I also enjoy the contact with various types of people.
I have a bachelor's degree in cultural anthropology as well as black world studies. Additionally, I have conducted independent research/studies in association with Miami University. I am co-author of a book and I also have constructed multiple photo expose's related to the experiences of people of african descent.

I generally begin with introductions, and finding out more about the person and why this field of study is of interest. I then go on to inquire about the learning style best suited for the individual. I then ask what specific areas they would like to focus on. From there I compose my lesson plan.
