About Daphne
While in Paris I tutored children in English for about a year, and it was so great getting to watch them progress. Whether teaching a native English speaker or someone learning it as a new second language, I believe there are so many ways to make English grammar and writing fun. I am also fluent in French and happy to tutor that as well!
The study of languages and literature have always been my favorite subjects. When I started learning French, I found many connections with English grammar and started thinking of new ways to write in both languages. Sharing this with others and helpinf then find connections through English and expanding their vocabulary is such an excitement.
I have a bachelors in social work and French, which required numerous english, writing, and literature courses.

I have a free flowing conversation to get to know them and see what there level is. Getting to know the student's interests can also help so that I can incorporate it unit lessons. For example, I had a student that enjoyed reading comic books, so I had her make her own comic strips using certain vocabulary words. I find it useful to start out with grammar and then spend the other half of the lesson on writing or reading if needed.
