About Savanna
Masters in French Literature and French Instructor with over twenty years of experience teaching in different and diverse situations, including middle school, high school, community college, and university. A flexible and creative approach to instruction with the student's best interests in focus. I have lived in France twice and taught English at a French University for a year.
I know how to break down French grammar to its simplest elements and explain it to students in a way that makes sense. I also enjoy using creative methods to guide students to better pronunciation of this difficult but beautiful language. I am inspired by the varied backgrounds of my students and challenged to teach in a way that piques their interest in French and Francophone culture.

I am a mature student who has taken French classes at Las Positas College and private group lessons from Savanna McGrew for 4 years now. She is an experienced and knowledgeable teacher who uses a combination of reading, writing and conversational French to teach grammar and French history to all levels from beginners to advance, In addition, Savanna uses roleplay, videos, songs and games to carry out her lessons. I highly recommend her as a teacher for anyone who wants to learn French in a fun waySavanna is extremely patient, outgoing, and one of the best language instructors I've met. I highly recommend her!
