About Carol
Anyone can learn how to paint! I have been painting since 2006 and have much to teach from years of experience and experimentation. I customize lessons based on your individual goals. I like to start with an idea of the kinds of paintings you are attracted to and then develop a unique lesson plan for you. I can teach acrylic, oil and pastels.

You don't have to be "gifted" or feel artistic in order to paint. If you approach it in a playful way, you will get more joy out of painting and less frustration. It took me years to figure that out and I love to show others this method!
I am new to this website and to teaching in general. It's been a calling for some time now!
I have over 15 years of experience creating and experimenting with different mediums, subjects and techniques. I have taken several workshops and have lots of tools and techniques to share! It can be frustrating at first, but I can help you avoid that frustration and find the joy in painting!

I ask you to show me samples of the types of paintings that you love, as well as talk about the types of paintings that you would like to start to create. Based on your goals, I will develop an individualized plan that meets your needs. I'm very flexible with timing.
I've only taught a few kids -- 5th- 8th grade. Most of my students are adults looking to pick up a new hobby.

Depending upon the student's individual goals, I charge by the hour or the lesson. Typically I charge $20 an hour for lessons.
