About Monica

I am a self taught, full time artist who loves color! I am fascinated by the way colors can be partnered together and how artwork can light up a room! I love teaching as it gives me an opportunity to share my gifts and watch students gain confidence as they learn a new skill or improve on it.

You can find my work on Instagram under @monicamartinfineart

I love sharing my passion for art, and painting in particular. I like getting to see the excitement on a students face when they realize they created something on their own. I love sharing all the knowledge I have gained over the years.

Although I am not formally trained, I have taken many online classes, as well as some formal weekly classes on Abstract art and painting with a palette knife.

About the lesson

I like to begin by finding out whether they've taken art class before, and what medium they are interested in.
I typically let them chose something to start with, to loosen up, and then we will begin our lesson. I'm not as concerned about the finished project as I am about learning techniques and basic skills.

Lynn

Monica is awesome. She is so talented, helpful, and patient. She makes art look so easy and when she breaks it down step by step you really feel like you've got some talent. Anytime I can take a class from Monica I do. She's the best!
