About Susan

I am a teaching artist. I primarily teach children ages 4-12. I have taught at Lillstreet Art Center, The Evanston Art Center, The Levy Center, The Noyes Cultural Art Center and Lycee' Francais School, The Chicago Park District and the North Shore Art League in Winnetka. I do parties and special events also. I teach ceramics, painting and multimedia. I am patient, creative and have a great sense of humor.

I enjoy the interaction of students. I am very excited to see people learn new skills. When working with children, creativity promotes other skills including social. The work is flexible, and allows me to pursue other creative endeavors.

I started teaching because I love people. Children are very spontaneous and responsive to art materials. I myself, as a child was always interested in art. My family were all corporate people and I needed to make a living. Teaching was a natural choice. I am the eldest of three daughters. I always found myself a natural teacher. I am patient, creative and have a great sense of humor.

BFA in Studio Arts, additional studies at SAIC. Coursework for K-8 all subjects and Graduate work in Gifted Education. Twenty years of teaching experience in fine arts and mixed media.
