About Darcy

A passionate and intuitive artist. I enjoy abstract art and fine arts. It's the conveyor of emotion and the subconscious. I specialize in color theory, oil painting, acrylics and charcoal/pastels. I am mostly self taught but have studied at Cal Arts and various local colleges. As a figure model, I have worked with many great artists and have picked up some of they're skill by observation.

I will help my students become comfortable and this more refined in their medium of interest. Using other mediums to build skill in the basis that everything is connected and nothing is off limits. I will help my students work through any blocks and limiting beliefs they may have may about themselves as artists. The saying "Artists are their own worst critics" exists because at young age we are taught to compare ourselves to those we aspire to be like, and if we don't succeed within the first few try's, then... So I offer freedom from the shackles of "Unworthiness", I offer "Acceptance" too.

Painting lessons offered by Darcy are tailored to each student's needs and level. Lessons can also be held online. Lessons are also available in Long Beach. The first lesson is free to define learning goals and methodology.
