About Celia

I hold degrees from San Jose State University (Masters) and completed doctoral studies in Musicology at the University of Wisconsin (concealed information) I am the founder/director of the Young Pianist's Beethoven Competition (American Beethoven Society) for California High School students, now in its 32nd year. I have been a Lecturer in Music History at San Jose State University

Music teaching is MY vocation. I relate very well with the personality of the students and their particular needs, The outcome has been very rewarding throughout my long career

After receiving my degree in music from the Conservatory of Music in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1960. Other degrees received from USA universities (see above)

More than 40 years of teaching at ALL levels: Beginners to Advanced, including University upper division courses, and concertos with orchestra

About the lesson

I introduce a detailed and PROGRESSIVE program based on the needs, age, and background of the student. I have a library of books that I loan to my students when necessary, particularly beginners. I am available for students to call me or send online messages with pertinent questions.

VERY motivated and dedicated. I expect serious commitment to practice, otherwise it would be a waste of time and money. Also the student is deceived about what it entails to study an instrument and does not have a conception of the masterpieces written by the likes of Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin ...
