About Jenny

I'm a classically trained pianist with about 20 years of piano experience; I believe that music is fun and want to share that joy with students. Although piano is a skill that takes a lot of time to learn and can be frustrating, I use an approach that values gentleness, humor, patience, and a positive mindset to accomplish your goals. Not only will you learn fundementals of piano in an engaging way, I will also teach you performance techniques to shake out nerves so that you can rock it out.

I primarily teach adult beginners, however, I am open to teaching children over the age of 8 and am open to genres that aren't classical. I conduct my lessons over zoom and work with you to determine the right plan to achieve your goals.

I love playing piano, it helped me so much during quarentine in 2020. Being unable to work due to the pandemic inspired me to share my skills with other people who were interested in playing piano.

I have 20 years of piano performance experience, through private lessons starting at age 10. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Purchase College, I have continuted to work on my piano skills and have had piano performance gigs.

About the lesson

Typically, I like to meet with a student for a complimentary introduction session that ranges from 15 to 30 minutes maximum. There we assess your current musical knowledge, get to know each other, talk about music, and see if it is a good fit. If it is, we schedule a lesson and set goals and coordinate educational material to make sure we are on the same page.

Mostly adult beginners, but I am open to working with children who are over the age of 8.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I think students should think about what kind of music they like, why they like it, and what kind of learning style best suits them.
